Spice reunion is true legacy of the Games: Polly Hudson
We had to wait two whole hours, but it was so, so, SO worth it.
The Spice Girls OWNED the closing ceremony – they came, they conquered and Victoria nearly fell off the roof of a taxi – even though a Zimmer frame had helpfully been provided.
Why was George Michael allowed two songs – one of which no one had ever heard – Fatboy Slim allowed to press some buttons for two songs and Jessie J allowed about 90 songs, but The Spice Girls got a rushed medley that lasted 10 seconds?
Their performance was dynamic, triumphant, ridiculous, goosebump-inducing stuff.
All the other acts – including Annie Lennox on a boat that, sadly, didn’t sink – should have been axed, and they should have just done a full concert.
They made everyone where I was watching feel a million times more patriotic than people in rags pushing boxes up a hill – or Muse.
It’s obvious what the true legacy of London 2012 should be.
GET BACK TOGETHER, GIRLS! Please?Source: The Mirror
